What Is EPCC?

The abbreviation EPC stands for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. In this type of project, the responsibility is primarily assigned to contractors. Here’s a breakdown of each phase

Engineering

In this phase, engineers and designers create plans, calculations, and project documentation. Designs include architectural plans, mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings. Specifications for equipment and materials are also determined.

Procurement

During this stage, necessary equipment, materials, and components are procured. Suppliers are selected, and contracts for material supply are signed. This phase includes purchasing equipment, transportation, storage, and inventory management.

Construction

Contractors and workers execute the project during this phase. Construction and installation of equipment, structural work, piping, wiring, and other necessary tasks take place.

Commissioning

After construction, the project enters the commissioning phase. Equipment is tested, and its performance is evaluated. Training is provided to users during this stage. EPC projects are commonly used in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy, transportation infrastructure, and utilities. The EPC approach ensures efficiency, risk reduction, and high-quality project delivery.
